First International Workshop on Intelligent Agents in Wireless Sensor Networks (IA-WSN)
December 18-22, Hong Kong

Call for Papers

First International Workshop Intelligent Agents in Wireless Sensor Networks (IA-WSN), which is organized in conjunction with the IEEE/WIC/ACM International Conference on Intelligent Agent Technology, IAT'06, Hong Kong, December 18, 2006.

Recent developments of low-cost, low-power, multifunctional wireless sensors have enabled the fast growth of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) applications, which include security, military, agriculture, automation, environmental and habitat monitoring. A combination of the WSNs, AI techniques, and intelligent agents can provide continuous real-time monitoring that is precise, accurate, reliable, as well as inexpensive.

This half-day workshop aims to bring together researchers and practitioners working on different aspects of wireless sensor networks and software agent technology in an effort to highlight the state-of-the-art and discuss the challenges and opportunities to explore new research directions. We encourage contributions that describe innovative work and results on IA-WSN.

The topics of interest include but are not limited to:

  • Adaptive agents in wireless sensor networks

  • Agent-based architectures for WSNs

  • Applications of wireless sensor networks

  • Distributed management systems for WSNs

  • Intelligent data fusion and aggregation

  • Intelligent query and data dissemination

  • Intelligent systems for WSNs

  • Learning agents in wireless sensor networks

  • Monitoring agents in wireless sensor networks

  • Peer-to-Peer systems for WSNs

  • Reliable routing techniques

  • Robust protocols

  • Safe transmissions of data in WSNs

  • Smart approaches for data managements for WSNs

  • Smart energy-efficient routing protocols

  • Mobile agents in WSNs

  • Agent security, trust in WSNs

  • Agents design issues dealing with reliability, efficiency, and fault tolerance
